EDEN COVID-19 Policies

At EDEN, we're continually monitoring developing news of the spread of COVID-19, so that we can make necessary adjustments to our activities. Our top priority is the health and safety of our clients, staff, and partners. EDEN's COVID-19 task force is meeting continually to review updated recommendations, and strategize how best to maintain our programs and services while prioritizing the health and safety of our clients, staff, and partners. We will continue to communicate any changes we make as quickly as we can.

Due to the expanding reach of COVID-19 throughout Ohio, EDEN is taking the following measures to keep our clients, staff and partners safe, and minimize the spreading of the virus:

  1. We are accepting visitors at EDEN's headquarters. Appointments are encouraged, but not required. If you need to speak with someone at EDEN, please call our main line 216-961-9690 and advise the receptionist on the reason for your call and to whom you need to speak. They will route you to the appropriate person. If there is no answer, please leave a message and we will respond as quickly as possible. Please be patient as the call volume will be elevated at this time due to COVID restrictions.
  2. Conducting meetings with external partners by phone/computer.
  3. Adjusting our Time Off policies to allow for greater flexibility.
  4. Increasing sanitizing efforts at our properties.
  5. Adjusting our methods of service provision to limit face-to-face contact between clients, staff and outside partners.
  6. Placing work-related travel on hold.
  7. Sharing accurate information with staff and clients about COVID-19 and prevention measures.
  8. Housing locators are to do assessments/location via phone or electronic documents or by an agreed-upon meeting space.

Some agency activities are being modified, in order to prioritize critical tasks while limiting interaction and exposure. We will continue to monitor the situation diligently, and implement additional adjustments as new information is reported. EDEN provides housing and vital supports to the most vulnerable individuals and families in our community, and though we are adapting our service delivery, we remain committed to our neighbors in need during this challenging time.

Please review and follow the guidance from CDC and Ohio Department of Health to keep yourself, family and friends safe:

Stay home.

stay homeThere will be no penalty to your housing program status for canceling or rescheduling appointments.

Wear a mask when outside your home.

wear a maskStudies prove that mask-wearing is the number one way to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It's not just for you ... it's for your family, friends, and your community.

Avoid close contact.

6 feet apartAvoid close contact with people, especially those who are sick. Put distance between yourself and other people. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.

Wash your hands frequently.

wash your handsWash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Cover coughs and sneezes.

Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow. If you are sick, wear a face mask, unless you are unable to (for example, if you have trouble breathing). If you are not sick, you do not need a mask, unless you are caring for someone who is sick and cannot wear one. Throw used tissues in the trash. Immediately after coughing or sneezing, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

Clean and disinfect

Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, counter tops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks. If surfaces are dirty, clean them: Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection. Most common EPA-registered household disinfectants will work. Use disinfectants appropriate for the surface.

Older adults and people who have severe underlying chronic medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness. Please consult with your health care provider about additional steps you may be able to take to protect yourself.

Please contact EDEN at 216-961-9690 with any questions. We will issue updates at www.edencle.org as they develop.

EDEN's mission is to provide housing solutions to people facing the challenges of housing insecurities and homelessness.
