About EDEN

The mission of EDEN is to provide housing solutions to people facing the challenges of housing insecurities and homelessness. We employ more than 160+ staff and serve more than 3,000 residents. The Agency, its partners, and subsidiaries operate approximately 1,000 units of rental housing; and, through its Housing Choice Voucher Program, EDEN funds housing assistance for the rental of more than 2,000 units of privately owned housing.

EDEN is in need of the following services/products, and we are endeavoring to ensure that all qualified vendors receive fair consideration. Unsolicited vendors are welcome to respond by the posted deadline. Responses sent after the deadline will not be considered.

RFP Subject: Professional Cleaning Services for Norma Herr Women’s Center

Project Description: The project consists of the cleaning of the dormitory rooms, common area spaces and bathrooms, including bio remediation services, pursuant to the scope of services listed in the RFP. Contractor will provide all personnel, equipment, chattel, and supplies to complete the scope of work. Two shifts required, including Emergency 24-hour after-hours cleaning service. Questions & Answers

Q1. What is considered an emergency?
We normally call the current provider to the site about 5 times a month after hours. An emergency is considered when blood, vomit or feces is found in the hallway or outside of the toilet stall area of the bathroom. If it is in the stall area, we just close the stall so that the residents can still use the bathroom for the night.
Q2. How many dorms are there?
There are 19 dorms.
Q3. Which areas need to be stripped and waxed bi-annually?
All floors with VCT floors in the commons areas to be stripped and waxed every 180 days (twice a year) Common areas are defined as hallways, stairwells, vestibules, laundry room, basement, dining rooms, quiet room, community rooms, bathrooms (if VCT is installed). 
Q4. Second shift of cleaning of 5 Bathrooms and Cafeteria shift cleaning concludes at 9 pm while during overflow periods, the Cafeteria is used for the purpose of "Sleeping Quarters" which begins at 7 pm daily. Please clarify the assignment(s) expectations.
There is no plan of using the Cafeteria as sleeping quarters any time soon. Scope of work may be modified if the area is needed for sleeping.

Q5. Is the EDEN contract as described above available for review now? If not currently available, what is the expected date of availability of the EDEN contract for review?

We will discuss and negotiate a contract once a successful bidder is selected.

Q6. What is the anticipated start date for the Cleaning Services within the NHWC as described in the RFP / SOW?
July 1st, 2021 is the anticipated start date for the new contract.
